Smithfield Past and Present
Description: See the site of London’s oldest hospital, the place for public executions, the home of John Betjeman , a famous meat market and a magnificent Norman church and hear stories of blood and gore in old London.
Duration: About 2 hours.
Meeting point: City Information Centre, St Paul’s Churchyard by Godliman Street.
Cost: £6 (£4 concessions)

Between Two Bridges
Description: A walk between London Bridge and Tower Bridge showing how father Thames has influenced the City of London. We will be passing the churches of St Magnus the Martyr, St Dunstan in the East and All Hallows By the Tower and will hear tales of the prisoners of the Tower and see the execution site on Tower Hill.
Duration: About 2 hours.
Meeting point: Monument Station, Fish Street Hill entrance.

A Street by the River
Description: We explore the south side of the Strand and the Thames and see how the river has been pushed back in the nineteenth century. Churches and palaces, history and literature, opera and musicals, they are all on this short walk along one of the most interesting sections of the river Thames. Please note that this walk involves a number of steps.
Duration: About 2 hours.
Meeting point: Embankment Station, river entrance.
